IGNITE SPORT INTERNSHIP
Ignite Sport Internship Opportunity (Wellington). One of the aims of Ignite Sport is to provide opportunity for people to reach their God-given potential both in sport and life. Many have been given a wonderful gift as athletes or simply have a very keen interest in sport and recreation. Ignite Sport has developed a full-time internship program for people who have a passion for young people and a desire to bring sport and mission together. The internship programme will provide opportunities to use the power of sport to serve local communities, schools and clubs and make a positive difference in the lives of New Zealand young people.

Interns will be involved in running and helping develop a variety of sports initiatives in 2008 which will include Sports Academies and Holiday Programmes, Coaching and Mentoring and a wide range of Sport Specific Events, all run from a distinctive Christian and mission perspective.

Interns will also have an opportunity to complete a Certificate in Youth Work - Sport Specific (Level 4) which we are planning to run in partnership with Praxis, registered with NZ Qualifications Authority as a Private Training Establishment. The course will focus on a variety of subjects including: personal growth and development, spiritual formation, sport and mission theology, safe practice, group facilitation, project planning, risk assessment and sports event management. Students may be eligible for student grants and allowances.

Ignite Sport is also prepared to look at other training/study options for those who may wish to complete study through another training establishment with Ignite Sport being your agency..
